A senior level attorney will facilitate these sessions and provide high school scholars with an opportunity to grow in professional awareness, learn legal skills such as contract review and intellectual property issue spotting and more.

Lawyers have a language all their own that helps to facilitate their practice of law. Scholars will have the opportunity to learn how to communicate like a lawyer so they are better prepared to support their management and build client relationships on day one of their new position.

Transactional lawyers spend several hours drafting, editing and negotiating contracts. Scholars will be given strategies to help them set their negotiation and contracting skills apart. Scholars will practice their skills with mock negotiations and editing and drafting contract templates.

A customer service focus is a key element of success to help a lawyers client relationships grow. Scholars will work through strategies for successful relationship management and practice their skills by drafting professional emails and leading mock corporate meetings.
